The remarkable dry and sunny late March weather has brought out early woodland flowers at Anderton Country Park.
Wood anemone, or grandmother’s nightcap, long established in old English woods.Lesser celandine, pilewort, or fig buttercup in US, where it is regarded as an invasive species. A mixed blessing for gardeners!
I love woodland walks and finding flowers in bloom. I’m hoping that tomorrow our weather might be pleasant enough that I can hike a bit on our city park trails — sketchbook in hand.
What beautiful and welcome signs of spring.
