With UK and many countries now isolating or socially distancing many people, maybe we should focus on the opportunities this presents.
This poem from Steve Taylor‘s recent newsletter is along similar lines to the Rumi quotes in my last post.
It’s time to drop our masks and roles
so we can rediscover our true selves.
It’s time to stop accumulating
so we can appreciate what we already have.
It’s time to let go of future plans and goals
so we can embrace the present.
It’s time to turn down the noise
so we can hear the soothing voice of silence.
It’s time to stop losing ourselves in activity
so we can find ourselves again, in stillness.
And once we’ve let go of everything, we’ll realise
that we already have enough
Barry, for some reason I can’t reblog this but just rebloged from another poster?

Hi Wayne. Sorry, reblogging is a mystery to me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I haven’t found a pattern…

❤️ If only. One can always hope.

Thanks, Jane. Yes we can hope. But we are not powerless. In the realm of ourselves we are everything, whatever is outside. I’m always inspired by Victor Frankl and what emerged from his experience in concentration camp, eg: “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

Very important point, Barry. Thank you. I keep needing to be reminded.
