I think this is a red legged shield bug or forest bug, which appeared on granddaughter’s hand in Chirk. Being around 1cm long, it proved quite difficult to photograph with my travel zoom. This was the best shot.
These common bugs are sap feeders often seen on oak trees, which were prevalent where we were.
It was beautiful shades on bronze, like a man-made shield, ad it glowed in the sunshine.

Very cool photo. I was trying to photograph a dragonfly – without success. I think I need another zoom lens….
