It was great to be back in Lincoln the other day, despite the odd spell of rain. Sometimes a rainy street helps the effect in night shots, such as this one of The Strait/ Steep Hill, leading up to the cathedral.

Lincoln cathedral provides a superb focus or background to many photographs, by day or by night. With the simple floodlighting it is simply stunning to walk around at night.

It is good to remember that this inspiring building was the result of a great collective religious/spiritual endeavour. If you’re open to it, the inspiration is still there.
